InfoPlusĀ® Enhances its Site Survey - again
January 28, 2013
Based on recent feedback received from one of our distributors, InfoPlus announces another enhancement to its Site Survey for Avaya's Communications Manager.
A Service Manager pointed out that, while it was helpful that our Site Survey listed the most current Firmware available from Avaya, it would be even more helpful if we could determine the most current Firmware the installed version of Communications Manager could support. This was a challenge we eagerly accepted, and one which resulted in several enhancements to the Site Survey.
1. We now display the current "Service Pack" of the CM version for both the Main and Survivable processors
in the following sections of the Site Survey;
The System Summary section, for both the Main and Survivable processors
The Software Inventory section, again for both the Main and Survivable processors
The Installed Patches table - we'll tell the reader which Service Pack a particular patch corresponds to, if any
2. We now consider the release of Communications Manager (and, when applicable, which Service Pack is
installed) when determining what the 'Latest Firmware' is for a particular piece of hardware
and
3. We've updated our 'Firmware Releases' tables to replace the 'Current' column
with a 'Firmware Status' column
The new 'Firmware Status' column clearly indicates whether the firmware is 'Current', 'Needs Update', or
is 'Newer than Recommended'.
These enhancements will make it much easier for technical personnel to determine the appropriate software patches for their customers' systems.
As always with our services, all Site Surveys produced after January 28, 2013 reflect these recent changes.
