InfoPlusĀ® Unaffected by 'Heartbleed' Vulnerability
April 8, 2014
You may have read about the 'Heartbleed' security vulnerability that is causing widespread concern among Internet security professionals and IT administrators. InfoPlus wants to let our customers know that our IT infrastructure was not affected by this vulnerability, which was recently discovered in certain versions of web security software.
Additional details:
- None of the InfoPlus servers was affected by this security issue at any time.
- While InfoPlus does use the OpenSSL library that is the cause of the 'Heartbleed' vulnerability, none of the affected versions (1.0.1x) has ever been in production use at InfoPlus.
- Our customers' information (usernames, passwords, system data, etc.) was not exposed due to this issue at any time, and users of InfoPlus services do not necessarily need to change their password as a result of this vulnerability.
- If your InfoPlus password is identical to other passwords you've used on the web, it may have been compromised elsewhere. In this case, we suggest you change it everywhere the same password was used. Best practices dictate to never use the same password for multiple services, for precisely this reason.
InfoPlus takes the security of your information seriously, and immediately investigated this issue as soon as it came to our attention. If you have any further questions or concerns, please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Thank you for your continued use and trust of InfoPlus.
